Strawberries= Summer

Anyone that grew up in an agriculture town like me knows one of the pleasures of summer is the ripening of berries. I can remember picking boysenberries from our backyard, my family home had a few, long rows that produced great results. My brothers and I would grab a flat, cardboard, basket, or sometimes just while feeding the chickens would slip a few hot berries directly into our mouths. Our findings were not only what created pies, jams, and snacks, but would also give us a little summer money from our makeshift berry stand along the highway.

Whenever summer comes along I become reminiscent for childhood days.
